Candiano Popescu, nr. 1 (Piata Libertatii)
I came here for lunch with my partner and a few friends, one of whom was on her lunch break from work, and it took over 1 hour for our food to arrive, which made my friend quite late. I had ordered Tuna & Asparagus, but the waiter (probably one of the rudest and grumpiest I’ve ever come across) brought baked potatoes instead, saying they didn’t have any asparagus; I suggested they could’ve asked if I wanted potatoes – I didn’t – or something else (on the menu they have various salads, rice, vegetables, etc.), to which his reply was that tuna is only otherwise served with potatoes. I asked for a salad, for which I had to pay extra, of course, and swapped the potatoes with my partner, who had fried Dorada Fish & Polenta. His fish came whole and the waiter didn’t offer to de-bone it, as we had just seen him do for other paying customers. The polenta was cold and crumbly and it tasted a day or two old. My tuna was overcooked and quite chewy. We asked for the bill while I was still eating and I asked to pay by card. When I reached for my purse to get my wallet, the waiter took away my plate, without asking if I had finished. He did the same with my friends’ plates. It was overall a very unpleasant experience, as the service was one of the worst and rudest I’ve seen, and the food, aside from not being what I had ordered and late to the table, was underwhelming, if not tasteless and poorly executed. And naturally overpriced. Needless to say, I will not come here again.
